2021 Natus Tinto, Alentejo, Portugal
$48.00
In the heart of Vidigueira, at the southern foot of the Serra do Mendro, in schist soils with a sandy loam and loamy loam texture, the unrigged vines that gave rise to this wine are planted.
The traditional grape varieties, mainly Trincadeira and Castelão, were hand-picked and trodden by foot for 2 days. When fermentation began spontaneously, the grapes were pressed and the must was kept in unlined 19th century clay jars until the end of alcoholic fermentation. The 12-month aging period was carried out in century-old Portuguese oak and chestnut barrels.
After decanting, we bottle an unfiltered, unstabilized wine.
Tasting Notes
A bright cherry red, the colour presents crystal clear reflections. Wild berries and forest floor in harmony with vegetal notes translate into a reactive acidity on the palate, with a creamy and elegant texture. Its freshness is its character and identity, never tiring, unfolding several layers of flavours, challenging the senses and arranging it on the table.
