The Domaine farms 3.51 hectares of Richebourg across the Les Richebourg and Les Verroilles climats, where the soils consist of shallow brown limestone over fractured Jurassic bedrock with a high proportion of oolitic and Comblanchien limestone fragments. These well-drained slopes face east–southeast and sit mid-hillside, giving the vines consistent morning light and moderate water stress. Vine age is significant throughout the holding, with many parcels over fifty years old and selective replanting carried out only when necessary.

Farming is fully organic and practiced according to biodynamic principles, with no herbicides and regular cultivation by horse to preserve soil structure. Yields are kept deliberately low through strict pruning and green harvests. In 2022, a warm and dry growing season required careful canopy management to retain acidity and prevent sunburn on exposed clusters. Harvest took place early, following meticulous sorting both in the vineyard and at the cuverie.

Fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in open wooden vats and typically involves a very high proportion of whole clusters, often between 70% and 100%, depending on the condition of the stems. Extraction is gentle, using a combination of pigeage by foot and remontage as needed, followed by an extended cuvaison. Temperature control is employed throughout to ensure a slow, even fermentation and a long post-fermentation maceration.

Élevage lasts 16 to 18 months in the Domaine’s cold underground cellars and uses 100% new French oak, sourced primarily from Tonnelleries Rousseau and François Frères. The wine is neither fined nor filtered and is bottled by gravity, typically in accordance with the lunar calendar. Production is extremely limited due to the small surface area of vines and consistently low yields.
