Marsannay is the only village designation where rosé production is allowed in Burgundy. In the last several years, however, many producers have decided to stop rosé production in favor of making Bourgogne rouge. There is more money to be made with Bourgogne Rouge, and the demand is higher.
Cyril Audoin is not one of those winemakers. Instead he crafts an old-vine (60yr) estate rosé with utmost care and attention; the same he would give to any of his wines. Cyril is one of the last remaining rosé producers in Marsannay, along with Sylvain Pataille and Bruno Clair. It is a style that has been part of the Audoin family history for generations and Cyril feels it would be a shame if it went away all together.
