One of the great pleasures of Montlouis has arrived! Mineral Plus is a blend of chenin blanc chosen from every parcel Frantz Saumon farms. It is a mix of old and young vines planted in clay, silex, and limestone. Direct press before fermentation and aged in old barriques and demi-muid. A compelling vintage from Frantz.
Frantz has 6 hectares in Montlouis that are certified organic. His main focus is chenin blanc, which he has 5 different vineyards of, all with unique terroirs. He established his domaine in Montlouis-sur-Loire in 2002, after a few stints as a forester in France and Canada, and a stage with Christian Chaussard of Domaine le Briseau, an influential voice in the “vin naturel” world who passed away not long ago.
