2023 Pierre-Olivier Garcia Bourgogne Aligote 'Grand Chaliot', Burgundy, France
$66.00
From old golden Aligoté vines just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, “Grand Chaliot” is rooted in the region’s signature brown clay and scattered chailles — small, sharp limestone fragments. At 60 years old, the vines yield a wine that’s textural yet Aligote from the soils of Premeaux which are harder, more compact types of limestone (sometimes called chailles) that are often used in building stone. In vineyards, they translate to well-drained, mineral-rich soils.
