Certified Biodynamic.  This small backyard slope sits above the eastern side of the Bassi Vineyard, on a property belonging to one of the neighboring Bassi Ranch estate homes. Planted to just 15 rows of Dolcetto, these vines grow on the same sandstone soils as the Bassi Vineyard.  Farmed entirely by hand, this is our first bottling of this pasta-craving wine.  Harvested in mid-September, the fruit was fully destemmed and fermented with native yeast in 228L upright barrels. The ferment received daily hand punch downs and was pressed at dryness in our wooden basket press. This wine was aged in neutral wood, larger format, 80 gallon barrels for 10 months.  The wine was racked for the first time to bottle, without fining or filtration.  Minimal sulfur was used at bottling to capture the energy of the wine.
