Corral de Gargantilla is a single vineyard in the historic paraje (lieu-dit) of El Castrejón at 1,050m above sea level and amphitheater-shaped, Gargantilla features a succession of different soils: pizarra (schist or slate metamorphic rock) with western exposure, a mix of pizarra and clay with southern exposure,and decomposed granitic sands with eastern exposure 80+ year old vines.
