2024 Peter Lauer Riesling Stirn Fass 15, Mosel, Germany
$59.99
If there was one wine that was most dramatically hit by Frost - it was naturally, of course, this one. At the top of the hillside, just below the forest, and thus frost crept down from the top and stayed there. - VB
The 2024 “Stirn” N°15, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, is a fully off-dry wine (with 27 g/l of residual sugar) made from fruit harvested in the prime south-west-facing, upper-front part of the original Ayler Kupp hill. It delivers a nicely aromatic and herbal nose of white flowers, smoke (bacon), spearmint, lime tree, lavender, and dill. The wine proves quite focused and compact at the start yet develops more fruity and creamy presence as it unfolds. The finish is driven by candied zest and quite mouth-watering despite its intensity and presence. 2029-2044 - MFW
