From steep, terraced vineyards around Loiben and Dürnstein on primary rock soils of gneiss and mica schist, this is Knoll’s archetypal dry Riesling at the Smaragd level—full ripeness balanced by crystalline acidity. The grapes are hand-harvested, pressed gently, and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel and large neutral oak, where the wine rests on fine lees until spring bottling.
