FACCIA BRUTTO Amaro Gorini

FACCIA BRUTTO Amaro Gorini

Faccia Brutto’s Amaro Gorini is a Brooklyn-crafted homage to southern Italian amari, named after founder Patrick Miller’s grandmother, Lena Pianta Gorini. This small-batch liqueur is built on a blend of 13 botanicals—including gentian, rhubarb root, fennel seed, and both sweet and bitter orange—that macerate for three weeks in a non-GMO neutral grain spirit. The infusion is then proofed down to 45% ABV and aged in used whiskey barrels using a Solera system, which layers complexity through fractional blending of older and younger batches.

Once matured, organic cane sugar is added and proofed down for bottling. The result is a bittersweet, citrus-forward profile with notes of orange peel, chestnut honey, and warm spices like cinnamon and star anise. Its balanced bitterness from gentian and chicory makes it equally suited for sipping neat or mixing into cocktails.
