About this experience

There's some serious energy happening east of the Alps. Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, the Czech Republic; once afterthoughts on traditional wine maps, these places are now an epicenter of fascinating (and extremely delicious) natural wine.

Here, an inspired set of winemakers (perhaps Tschida, Strohmeier, Nestarec ring a bell?) are pushing forward quality farming and new styles of experimental wines – all while embracing the traditionally-styled wines that have made this place so special for centuries.

We'll explore the region's rich history, using several of the its visionary natural winemakers as guideposts. And our tour guide is one of NYC's great wine veterans, Phil Sareil (of Jenny & François Selections), whose work has played a significant role in introducing Central European wine to our city and beyond.
