An expanded set from Raphaëlle Guyot

12/10/25
We're so pleased to see another (larger) release from Raphaëlle Guyot – who since our intro last year has quietly become one of the finest domaine + micro-négoce projects in Burgundy.

There's some quick background below (full story here); but the focus for this release is really in her expanded range which now mostly reaches beyond Burgundy to the Loire, Mâcon, and Beaujolais.

While this expansion was largely driven by the extreme difficulty of a rainy '24 in her home département of Yonne (on the technical edge of Burgundy but closer to the Loire Valley than the Côte d'Or), we more than welcome the opportunity to see her talent reflected in new terroirs. And, the fruit was sourced from some of the finest growers (including her old employer, Grange Tiphaine!).

Raphaëlle has a knack for making aromatic wines that both engage and quench – truly just a pleasure to crack.

Raphaëlle farms biodynamically about 3 hectares in Puisaye-Forterre, a town almost equidistant from Chablis and Sancerre. From this she makes a tiny amount of estate wine (much of her land has been only recently replanted), and a (much larger) négoce project with fruit from the surrounding Auxerrois region (Saint-Bris, Irancy).

With most of these vineyards impacted by intense rain and disease pressure in 2024 (including 90% of her estate), she sourced much of the vintage elsewhere, stretching west to Touraine-Amboise and south as far as northern Beaujolais.

Estate Wines

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Cuvée Unique' Pinot Noir, $50
This cuvée would normally be from her site 'Les Hâtes,' a limestone-rich half hectare which Raphaëlle intensively rehabbed. But with yields so low in 2024, this fruit was supplemented with her 'Les Robinettes' vineyard (also bottled separately, below). Partial whole cluster fermentation, aged 10 months in oak.

2023 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Les Robinettes' Pinot Noir, $55
From her biodiverse, limestone-studded vineyard in Yonne. 100% whole cluster fermentation, aged for 12 months in barrel with a touch of sulfur at bottling.

2023 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Les Robinettes' Chardonnay, $60
A new estate cuvée with this release, her first vintage of Chardonnay which she planted in 'Les Robinettes' in 2020 via selection massale. Directly pressed, fermented and aged 10 months in barrel, unfiltered.

Négoce Wines

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Calliope' Chardonnay VDF, $40
Chardonnay from two parcels in souther Mâconnais and northern Beaujolais. Directly pressed, fermented in tank and aged 6 months in barrel.

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Amaltée' Aligoté VDF, Burgundy, $40
Aligoté from southern Burgundy. Directly pressed, fermented in concrete, and aged in concrete for 10 months.

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Eos' Gamay VDF, $40
Beaujolais-Villages Gamay from Belleville. Destemmed, fermented and aged 7 months in tank.

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Moria' Gamay VDF, $45
Old vine Gamay from Morgon. Destemmed and aged 10 months in old oak. A touch more generous than her 'Eos' Gamay.

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Kalos' Cabernet Franc VDF, $45
Cabernet Franc sourced from La Grange Tiphaine in Touraine-Amboise. Macerated 6 days, aged 10 months in old oak.

2024 Raphaëlle Guyot 'Selene' Chenin Blanc VDF, $45
Chenin Blanc sourced from La Grange Tiphaine in Touraine-Amboise. Directly pressed and fermented in tank, then aged 10 months in 300L barrel.

2023 Raphaëlle Guyot Saint-Bris 'La Valse' VDF, Yonne, $50
Sauvignon Blanc from Saint-Bris. Directly pressed, fermented and aged in oak for 18 months. This is actually her second bottling of this vintage, which saw longer aging prior to release (first release aged one year).
