Technically a new domaine in Châteauneuf but from a historic family, , Domaine Mayard is quickly making a name for itself to those in the know about the Southern Rhône. Winemakers Arthur and Hugo are the sixth generation of Mayard winemakers, now in charge of this estate following the separation of the Mayard family’s vineyards into several properties.
41% Syrah, 23% Grenache, 23% Cinsaut, 7% Mourvèdere, 6% Marselan. From the Sabran, Thezan, La Chapelle, Valoris, and Plet lieux-dits, Vines planted between 1905 and 1990. 25 hl/ha. Grapes are hand harvested, sorted in the vineyard and also in the cellar. Native yeast fermentation in inox for 15 days using the R'Pulse maceration technique every day for two minutes. Aged in concrete tanks and bottled eight months after harvest.
