2024 Jakob Moise Spätburgunder Landwein, Baden, Germany
$39.00
Jakob declassified the grand cru wine he normally produces in Ehrenstetten, the same site and village as Wasenhaus's Möhlin in '24 - (normally called Belmont) - into this wine, which was the only wine he bottled in '24. The village level wine normally called "Spätburgunder" was sold to the co-op, and the Kaiserstuhl's "Eichberg" had too much rain.
Thus the "basic" Spätburgunder Landwein here - this is the one wine of the vintage. Only 600 bottles produced - 100% destemmed and fermented in clayver ceramic vessels.. dark brambly purple fruited with lifted, classic Moise style hightened by the '24 cooler vintage. As is classic for Jakob - a very pure and light styled Pinot, not pushed and very transparent of place and style. -vom Boden
